When you hear the three letters CRM – what does it mean to you?

“C” “R” “M”

A friend said to me recently, “CRM – so what?”  And, it got me thinking.  What impression do you have when you hear these three letters.

Given that I’m passionate about cloud computing and have set up a company to help bring the benefits of cloud CRM to more businesses, it probably means something different to me than it does to you.  So, I’d like to learn what goes through your mind when you hear the letters ‘CRM’.  Does it mean nothing? Do you think – big system that only huge conglomorates use?  Do you think, expensive, can’t afford that?  Do you think waste of time and money?  Or something else completely?

I’d love to help as many businesses as possible use CRM to help develop and grow.  And I have some funky ideas about how I can do that.  But, from first principles – the first challenge I need to overcome is the perception of what CRM is.

So – I invite you to let me know what you think CRM is.  I’m not on a massive data capture mission with an underlying desire to spam you with my services.  However, I’d really appreciate it if you could an idea of the size of business (people / turnover) that you run and sector you operate in.
