Acknowledge All Wins – Big or Small

Small Wins are Important

Some may believe that only the big victories warrant acknowledgement. We believe that all victories do. Ask your team members to note down all the wins they’ve encountered in a given day or week. These could be as small as finally converting a lead into a customer, or receiving a positive response from someone who hasn’t replied to you for a while.

Acknowledging and celebrating these small successes are great for uplifting team members and opening their eyes to the good things they’ve made happen, even if the complete outcome hasn’t yet been achieved.  When your team can see that they’re making progress, and are probably one step closer to reaching the final aim, they’ll begin to see themselves as a team that keeps winning. Who wouldn’t find that inspiring?

Seeing these triumphs in front of them and taking credit for what they’ve accomplished will increase the determination to reach their full potential and confront the ultimate goal.

Rewards and Recognition

Recognising/rewarding the team or a certain team member for the triumphs they’ve achieved can amplify motivation in any department. Have you incorporated this into your business? If not, we think it’s about time you did! For example, sharing team members’ stories of success with everyone is a great way to encourage them to continue making positive moves. Additionally, such recognition as a simple “well done” email builds confidence, pride, and motivates the team to achieve more.

Rewards are also a brilliant way to recognise the team’s efforts. Psychology proves that rewards positively reinforce the rewarded behaviour, and that’s what everyone wants, right? If you don’t offer rewards yet, start thinking about what you can provide. Maybe even ask your team members what rewards they’d like to see.
