Some Projects Can Require Teamwork
Although salespeople sometimes have their individual targets to hit and don’t necessarily always work in a team, bigger projects can require teamwork. Therefore the team needs to gel, communicate effectively and actually get on.
This is where team-building exercises come in.
They test team collaboration to the limit, provide an unmatched bonding experience and identify team members’ strengths and weaknesses. Usually, employees come away from such activities with new discoveries about each other and the team (which they can use to their advantage) and a motivation to succeed with each other on the projects on which they’re working. So, why not test this out?
Team-Building Exercises Can Be Fun
We can almost predict the assembly of groans and eye-rolls when you mention the phrase “team-building”. But, trust us, they don’t have to be cheesy or mundane. Why not make them fun?
For example, try outdoor adventure activities or a team-based sport. A bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone! Not only will your team enjoy a good time out of the office, but team-building activities are known to have a measurable effect on team motivation and performance. A sense of team spirit goes a long way.
Sometimes, it’s also just a good excuse to take everybody’s minds off work and delight in a much-needed change of scenery.
